Friends of Bassett, the fundraising arm of the Bassett Healthcare Network, continues this tradition.
We are committed to connecting donors to programs and projects throughout Bassett Healthcare Network. Both the Friends and Bassett Healthcare Network are non-profit entities and use community donations to augment needed improvements throughout the network.
The Friends of Bassett helps donors realize their dreams and plan their legacies. From children holding bake sales to major gifts that make new buildings possible, we help individuals who want to help others make good things happen.
What We Do
Since its inception in 1968, Friends of Bassett has supported Bassett Healthcare Network by connecting people who want to give to a project that will impact patient care and community health in a meaningful way. Today, more than 3,000 donors give to the hospitals and health centers of Bassett Healthcare Network annually. This community support makes a tangible difference, funding state-of-the-art equipment, new programs and initiatives, and medical education—all to benefit the individuals and families living in central New York.
Here is a list of some of the key projects Friends of Bassett, together with our donors, has supported in the past decade:
- New primary-care center in Dolgeville
- Renovation of the emergency department at Cobleskill Regional Hospital
- Expansion of primary care at O’Connor Hospital in Delhi
- A new birthing center at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown
- Renovations to Little Falls Hospital’s emergency department and surgical suite, and expansion of heart care and radiology
- Expansion of School-Based Health Centers across the network
- Creation of the mobile cancer-screening coach
- NYCAMH rollover protective structures program
