Securities / Stock
Making a gift of appreciated securities can be a tax-efficient way to support Bassett Healthcare Network by helping you reduce or eliminate capital gains tax. For information on how you may make a gift of stock, please contact our office at (607) 547-3928. If you are ready to make your gift, contact your broker with the following information:

The Friends can provide assistance for donors and their advisers on estate planning, including:
- Income-Producing Gifts
Creating a charitable remainder trust or gift annuity with Friends can provide you and/or your loved ones with income for the duration of your lives or for a term of years. - Charitable Lead Trusts
Establishing a charitable lead trust can provide an inheritance to loved ones at a minimal tax cost. - Bequests
Naming Friends of Bassett in your will can allow you to make a more substantial gift than you might otherwise have thought possible. - Non-cash Assets

Matching Gifts

Payroll Deduction for Bassett Healthcare Network Employees
Employees anywhere in the Bassett Healthcare Network can make charitable contributions to the Friends by payroll deduction. To sign up, fill out this authorization form and return it to the Friends office.
Foundation Giving
National and regional, private and public, foundations are an important source of grants that help support Bassett's regional health-care programs and services.

Tribute Gifts
Honor or memorialize loved ones by designating your gift in their honor. All tribute gifts are listed in the Friends annual report publication and on our website. Notification of your gift is also sent to the honoree and/or their family members, as you specify.

If your resources do not support a financial gift right now, you may want to donate time. We welcome volunteers!
Bassett needs volunteers for a variety of tasks in a variety of settings.
Here are some examples of what you can do:
- Read to pediatric patients (children)
- Sit with patients, for companionship
- Bring patients to surgery
- Sit at the front desk of the clinic building, greet people, and help direct them
- Sit at the front desk of the fieldstone hospital building, greet people, and help direct them
- Sit at the lower-level back entrance of the clinic building, greet people, and help direct them
